What Do CSVAs Do?

Immediate Crisis Support

  • Provide 24/7 response to hospitals and police departments
  • Offer emotional support during forensic exams
  • Ensure survivors understand their rights and options

Advocacy & Accompaniment

  • Accompany survivors to:
    • Medical exams
    • Law enforcement interviews

Help survivors navigate systems at their own pace

Safety Planning

  • Assess immediate safety needs
  • Develop personalized safety plans

Information & Options

  • Explain reporting options (if interested)
  • Connect survivors to counseling and long-term support services

Empowerment & Survivor-Centered Care

  • Support survivors in making informed decisions
  • Respect each individual’s autonomy
  • Provide non-judgmental, trauma-informed care
