Crisis Response Team Coordinator (Part-time)
Summary: The Crisis Response Team Coordinator, at the direction of and in collaboration with the Director of the Family Justice Center (FJC), has the responsibility of managing, training, developing and reporting of the Crisis Response Team implemented throughout the Union County municipalities and their police departments. This position will work closely with the FJC Director to assist in the development of a safe and confidential atmosphere for all clients of the YWCA Union County. This position is 32 hours/week.
Requirements: Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field. Should have a least two years experience working in the field of domestic violence. Must have some knowledge and understanding of domestic violence and trauma and complete 40 Hour Domestic Violence training. Must demonstrate cultural competency in experience or education. Excellent verbal and written skills a must. Must possess strong public speaking skills. Knowledge of computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Power Point and Excel. Must have drivers license and own car. Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred.
Essential Duties: Coordinate with local Domestic Violence Liaison Officers (DVLO) to ensure regular utilization of CRT on all appropriate calls. Connect with DVLOs of every municipality at least bimonthly to ensure ongoing communication and engagement with CRT and go in person to all stations for onsite police training and relationship building. Recruit, screen, train and manage team of volunteers for CRT and assist with conducting 40 hr domestic violence training for all volunteers across YWCA. Respond as needed to call-outs during regular business hours. Develop and implement the yearly goals and objectives, ensure CRT program coverage, and program outcomes. Be available for evening and/or weekend hours as necessary to achieve program goals. Maintain and enter data on volunteer callouts.

Job Specialist (Full-Time)
Summary: At the direction of and in collaboration with the Director of Community Support Services and STEP Coordinator carries the responsibility to assist clients with workforce development.
Requirements: Must have a BA or BSW with prior case management experience. Experience in domestic violence preferred, workforce development or training experience helpful. Bi-lingual Spanish skills preferred. Knowledge and sensitivity to issues of domestic violence, homelessness and a commitment to women’s empowerment and the eradication of racism. Adequate and effective level of written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Intermediate PC skills. Car required.
Essential Duties: Responsible for assisting in the development and use of workshop curricula focusing on job skills development and placement, utilizing community and electronic resources. Responsible for assisting in regularly scheduled workshops to meet the needs of clients in YWCA programs, to enhance workforce development and financial literacy skills. Responsible for assisting in facilitating workshops utilizing Economic Empowerment Curriculum. Responsible for assistance in client job placement with Union County College and other Union County workforce development programs. Responsible for identifying and developing internship/employment training possibilities throughout Union County and nearby vicinity. Develop and implement referral and job “matching” system to connect STEP clients with prospective employers. Provide initial job coaching support to clients entering job or internship opportunities as requested. Network with other job training agencies as needed.

Bilingual Case Manager (Part-Time)
Summary: The bilingual case manager connects clients to collaborative community agencies as well as other YWCA services to help them obtain the resources they need to become independent and self-sufficient. These resources fall under the general categories of housing, immigration, social services, healthcare, furniture support, resources for children, and
many others.
Requirements: Position requires B.A., bilingual Spanish/English, commitment to empowerment of women, culturally competent. Willing to travel to different locations for service delivery.
Essential Duties: Provides the following direct services: initial assessments, ongoing sessions, referrals, advocacy and development of case management plans for each client. Maintains contact with community agencies to coordinate access to and delivery of services. Schedules community presenters to facilitate relevant workshops for agency clients and is involved in hosting the workshop (preparation/set up/take down). Provides occasional transportation and accompaniment for clients to appointments where clients need assistance or advocacy. Refers clients to appropriate community resources for services not covered by YWCA Union County. Completes necessary reporting requirements for all program areas by assisting in reporting of statistics and in preparation of reports. Acts as liaison to the YWCA collaborating partners in providing the following services to clients: career counseling, housing, job development, and others. Assists client in relevant application processes, including VCCO, Social Security, Social Services, etc. Documents and maintains case records for individual clients, completes needs assessments, goal sheets, and maintains other records as needed. Maintains a system of accountability to ensure proper statistical information gathering and analysis. Notifies Director of Community Support Services when unusual cases, irregularities, or accidents occur. Maintains and updates referrals and relationships with agency’s contacts. Assists the non-residential counseling team in conducting FVO assessments for Social Services and reporting necessary information and statistics.

Shelter Advocate (Full-Time)
Summary: The Shelter Advocate is a direct service position that has primary responsibility for, as part of a team of shelter staff, assisting, advocating, and enabling survivors of domestic violence and their families who are temporarily residing in the emergency shelter to be safe, empowered and have increased ability to be independent and free of violence.
Requirements: BA/BSW or commensurate experience. Bilingual (Spanish-English) preferred. Must demonstrate cultural competency through either experience or education. Must have some knowledge and understanding of domestic violence and trauma. Flexible schedule. Excellent verbal and written skills a must. Knowledge of computer skills helpful. Committed to empowerment of women.
Essential Duties: Responsible for overseeing safety of clients in shelter during assigned shifts including answering door, telephone, and maintaining confidentiality in all activities. Help to actively create an empowering, supportive living environment for all shelter residents utilizing trauma-informed approaches. Model healthy boundaries, respectful behavior, and open communication Provide Director of Residential Services with information on potential problems and assist in the development of solutions and/or innovative approaches to problems. Provide crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy, accompaniment, safety planning and referrals & information for residential clients. Answer and properly provide crisis counseling, safety planning, information & referrals, and shelter screening for 24-hour domestic violence hotline. Conduct intakes with survivors requesting shelter. Assist in completion and/or coordination of cleaning, maintenance and overall upkeep of shelter and shelter supplies.

Creative Arts Therapist (Part-Time/Per-Diem)
Summary: The Creative Arts Therapist is a direct service position that has the responsibility for the provision of creative arts therapy for children and youth within the YWCA Union County PALS (Peace: A Learned Solution) Program. The areas of focus are creative arts therapy (dance/movement, drama, art) individual and group, intake and assessment, parent education, and documentation.
Requirements: Must possess a Master’s in Creative Art Therapy or equivalent. Must be Board Certified (ATR-BC) or eligible. Must have counseling and/or clinical experience. Experience with children, domestic violence, and/or trauma survivors very strongly preferred. Bilingual/bicultural a substantive plus. Excellent verbal and written skills. Knowledge of computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Power Point and Excel. Flexibility in hours required. Must be able to work evening and occasional weekend hours.
Essential Duties: Conduct intake assessments with each child including assisting in administering psychological tests to children enrolling in the PALS program and creating individualized treatment plan for each child. Provide individual, group and family creative arts therapies to participants. Ensure that age-appropriate safety planning is integrated into creative arts sessions where possible and appropriate. Ensure that age-appropriate information regarding respectful behavior and healthy boundaries is integrated into creative arts sessions where possible and appropriate. Educate parents, where appropriate, regarding the dynamics of domestic violence, the effects of witnessing on children and non-violent strategies for parenting children who have been traumatized. Encourage parent-child and sibling-sibling bonding through participation in family-based creative art therapy sessions.

Emergency Room Domestic Violence Liaison (Full-Time)
Summary: The Emergency Room Domestic Violence Liaison (ER DVL) is a domestic violence specialist who will provide direct safety planning, case management, support services and advocacy for victims of crime referred by Trinitas Emergency Room staff.
Requirements: Must possess a Master’s Degree and three years experience in the field of domestic violence. Licensed clinical social worker or licensed professional counselor preferred. Must be bilingual (English/Spanish). Must be trauma-informed and knowledgeable about resources for victims. Excellent verbal and written skills as well as knowledge of computer programs.
Essential Duties: Receive direct referrals from Trinitas ER staff and/or via the YWCA Hotline. Complete intake and determine service needs of victims and provide victims with ongoing case management, referrals and advocacy as well as provide direct linkages including establishment of appointments and accompaniment as needed for follow-up medical, mental health, housing and legal needs. Assist with safety planning. Conduct lethality assessments as appropriate. Provide crisis counseling. Provide trauma and domestic violence training to Trinitas ER staff. Act as liasison to the YWCA collaborating partners in providing services to clients including career counseling, housing and job development. Hourly Shelter Advocate (Part-Time)
Summary: The Hourly Shelter Advocate is a direct service position that, as part of a team, has primary responsibility for assisting, advocating, and supporting survivors of domestic violence and their children who are residing in the Emergency Shelter Program to be safe, empowered and have increased ability to be independent and free of abuse.
Requirements: Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree, have some knowledge and understanding of domestic violence and trauma, and maintain flexibility in schedule. Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred. 40 Hour Domestic Violence Training required. Weekend availability required.
Essential Duties: The Hourly Shelter Advocate is responsible for overseeing the safety of clients in shelter, creating an empowering, supportive living environment, answering and providing crisis counseling, providing safety planning, information and referrals, and shelter screening on our 24 hour hotline, providing crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy, accompaniment, safety planning, and referrals and information for residents, and inputting and maintaining client information in client database.

The Union County Family Justice Center (FJC) is a collaboration among existing public and private agencies in Union County, NJ, to provide support, services, and resources for victims of domestic violence, with the goal of making these services more accessible and available. The collaboration represents a true integration of services that is fully client-centered and meets the needs of clients in a holistic manner and in a single location.
Requirements: Must complete 40-hour domestic violence training. Excellent verbal and written skills. Knowledge of computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft office, PowerPoint and Excel. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Essential Duties: The Court Advocate Volunteer will assist in providing domestic violence victims with the knowledge and support they need to successfully navigate the restraining order cases. This position will work closely with the Court Advocate and Director of the FJC.

Summary: The Hotline Volunteer is a direct service, volunteer position that responds to our 24 Hour Domestic Violence Hotline on site. The position includes crisis counseling, safety planning, provision of referrals, and advocacy.
Requirements: Bilingual (English-Spanish speaking) preferred. Must have a bachelor’s degree. Experience with women and/or domestic violence strongly preferred. Excellent verbal and computer skills required. 40 Hour Domestic Violence Training required.
Essential Duties: The Hotline Volunteer will provide crisis intervention and emergency counseling for survivors of domestic violence including safety planning, information and referrals, education regarding the dynamics of domestic violence, and advocacy. The Hotline Volunteer will work with staff to review calls and complete accurate documentation of all calls.
